How it works
Age counts full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. People born on 29 February are counted as having their birthday on 28 February in non-leap years here.
Cut-off dates in exams and forms are usually 'as on' a specific date, which is why the second date is useful.
Formula
Years, months and days between the two dates, borrowing days from the previous month where needed.
Common questions
Why is my age in days different from a calendar estimate?
Leap years add days.
Can I check eligibility on a past date?
Yes, set 'Age as on' to that date.
Does it use the time of birth?
No, only dates.
