How it works
Celsius and Kelvin steps are the same size; Kelvin starts at absolute zero, which is -273.15 degrees Celsius. Fahrenheit steps are smaller and start from a different zero.
Water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F) at normal pressure.
Formula
°F = °C x 9 / 5 + 32. K = °C + 273.15.
Common questions
Are the conversions exact?
They use the standard defined factors, shown to up to 8 decimal places.
Can I convert between any two units?
Yes, choose any 'from' and 'to' unit; the table shows every unit at once.
Why does Celsius to Fahrenheit not look round?
The two systems were defined separately, so the factor is usually not a round number.
